Fishing Report from TPWD (Feb. 26)

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 47 degrees; 9.04 feet below pool. Lake Bridgeport is around nine feet low. The recent cold snap dropped the water temperature into the mid to upper 40s. The water is lightly stained, all ramps are open. Sand bass and hybrids are fair on slabs and soft plastics. Main lake structures have been holding fish. A very slow presentation has been best. Blue Catfish have been good on cut bait, especially in the north end and mouth of the river. Crappie are in prespawn mode. Check brush piles near deeper water, channels and docks. Jigs and minnows have been productive. Bass are in prespawn mode too. Look for the warmest water you can find. The north end will be a few degrees warmer.
